Indian Association of Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ) celebrated Qatar Sports day on 12th February 2019 which was attended by Indians residing in Qatar at the Al Wakrah Public Garden.
The day started with lot of sports activities planned separately for kids, adults and families. There were 50 meters and 100 meters race, mathematic race, Fast and Sharp mind game, relay race, sack race, find the target, helping hand and many more interesting games which all the participants enjoyed.
The winners were given prizes at the end of event.
The president of IABJ Sheikh Tanwir Ahmad welcomed all the participants and urged all Indian from Bihar and Jharkhand to join IABJ and strengthen the association. He mentioned that IABJ has been formed to help people from Bihar and Jharkhand residing in Qatar when they face any form of difficulty or unwanted situations.
More than 100 people, including women and children attended the event. Mr. Naseem H. Khan, the Sports Secretary of IABJ had organized a lot of games for all the participants.
The IABJ was founded by the people from Bihar and Jharkhand in the STATE OF QATAR and affiliated to Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India, Doha Qatar. Indian Association for Bihar & Jharkhand is a Socio-Cultural non-profit organization functioning in the state of Qatar for the community development and welfare of the people of other community at large and people of Bihar & Jharkhand in particular.
IABJ Celebrates “Bihar Divas” (Bihar Day) every year in Doha where a huge group of people from Bihar and Jharkhand participate showing their social and cultural properties.
The IABJ’s Sports Day Celebration started with the introduction of all the participants and IABJ’s Vice President Shamshad Alam gave the introduction, objectives, the functioning of IABJ in Qatar and all other details. IABJ’s Welfare Secretary Irfan Hasan Ansari and Joint GS Imtiyaz Ahmed also played a good role in making this event successful. Snacks and lunch was served to all the participants and every kid was given a gift and toffees.
IABJ’s former President Sajjad Alam, Advisory Committee Mr. Afzaal Nasir, Mr. Aslam, Executive Members Sadruzzaman, Treasurer Mr. Jahangir and many other members attended the event.
The General Secretary of IABJ Mohammad Khalid Hussain thanked every one for joining and making the celebration of sports day a success. He added that it is a great moment to see the huge numbers of Indians from Bihar and Jharkhand gathering at one place miles away from our country. He also assured that IABJ will help the people from Bihar and Jharkhand to develop a better community.
