“If something (wrong) is happening in Bombay (sic), Marathis should oppose it. Outsiders are in any case speaking against it. Similarly, if there is (an incident of) terrorism, Muslims should come out and speak against it. Hindus will anyway speak against it,” Bhagat said at the release of Hindi translation of his popular novel, “One Night @ the Call Centre”.

He said his next book would touch upon the recent attacks on north Indian migrants in Mumbai.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani released the Hindi translation of the book, published by Prabhat Prakashan, which has also been adapted in the Bollywood movie “Hello”.

Advani said fiction writing was important for society as it helps form images and ideas for life.

“Young people have impressionable minds and good writing is always welcome,” he told the gathering while recallign he read Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People” when he was 15.
