Sydney : Bangalore doctor Muhammed Haneef will be allowed to leave Australia, but his work visa will not be reinstated, the government said Saturday.
Minister for Immigration Kevin Andrews made the announcement in Melbourne. Haneef can leave for India as early as Saturday night.
His lawyer Peter Russo earlier said that Haneef was keen to reunite with his family.
On Friday, Australia dropped all charges of terrorism against Haneef in connection with the failed British terror bombings.
