Fog returns to Chandigarh after days of clear sky

Chandigarh : Dense fog once again covered Chandigarh and its neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana Sunday morning after a week-long clear sky, with the weatherman predicting a dip in temperature during the coming days.

“There is dense fog in this region and we are expecting a thick blanket of fog to prevail here for three to four more days till we have rain showers.

“There is a possibility of rain in this region and isolated snowfall in some parts of Himachal Pradesh from Jan 14 will also continue for three to four days,” Chatar Singh Malik, director of meteorological department, Chandigarh told IANS.

“We also experienced a dip in the morning temperature Sunday but it is quite normal. There will be a further dip in the temperature of both day and night in the coming days,” he said.

The morning minimum temperature in Chandigarh Sunday was recorded at 8.4 degree Celsius.

According to meteorological department officials, Amritsar in Punjab recorded the minimum morning temperature at 2.9 degree Celsius, even lower than Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, where temperature was recorded at 3.1 degrees Celsius.
