Mumbai : Indian equities markets moved south Thursday for the second consecutive day, with a key index shedding 1.59 percent from its previous close.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 9,559.03 points, lost 152.71 points or 1.59 percent from its Wednesday close to end at 9,465.83 points (provisional).
The S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 1.23 percent to close at 2,893.05 points.
However, the BSE midcap index closed a marginal 0.10 percent higher as the BSE smallcap index gained 0.71 percent over its previous close.
