Tehran, Feb 14, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with foreign reporters here Saturday said that the US should change its behavior instead of language.
Larijani said presence of foreign reporters in Iran is an appropriate opportunity to get acquainted with the existing realities in Iran after the Islamic revolution.
He added Islamic Revolution of Iran was a phenomenon with many dimensions and the efforts made by certain countries to deny the reality has not been successful.
Resonding to a question concerning Iran’s nuclear activities, Larijani said Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities are upon international regulations and under supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) , but some countries with an adventurous behavior are trying to ignore Iranians’ inalienable rights.
A British Reporter asked about Iran’s conditions for starting dialogue with the USA, the speaker said that Iran does not need rhetoric from US officials and slogan of “change” is not effective solely and the US government should think about a real change in its behavior instead of changing its language.
He went on to say the US politicians in the past several decades have imposed cruelties against Iranian people which had been registered in the people’s historical memory.
On the regional problems, especially situation in Afghanistan and Palestine, Larijani said that the US attacked Afghanistan with pompous goals like fight against drug smuggling or campaign against terrorism , but after eight years it could not achieve its goals and the problems have been aggravated in the region.
Concerning Palestine issue, the Majlis speaker said that the Palestinians have chosen Hamas for their leadership in a free election, but the US by taking a double standard policy besieged them in different dimensions and this behavior indicates that the US government likes only a type of democracy which is in direction of its own interests.
