Phagwara (Punjab) : Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Monday inaugurated a railway over-bridge in this industrial town of Punjab, eight months after it was formally thrown open for use.
The bridge was being used by motorists and others since June last year when it was completed after a delay of nearly five years.
It was opened for the public following a court order. However, no one could find time earlier to inaugurate it.
The bridge project was initiated during the previous term of the Badal government in 2001. It was only during the present tenure of Badal that it was completed last year.
Phagwara town, known for textile and other industries, is located between Ludhiana and Jalandhar in Punjab.
