Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi is likely to be discharged Saturday from a hospital here following his recovery from high fever, hospital authorities said Friday.
“The chief minister has completely recovered from his fever and other ailments and is cheerful. He will return home Saturday after an extra night’s rest,” a hospital spokesperson said.
The 86-year-old DMK chief, who is in the Apollo Hospital here, is scheduled to share the dais with Congress president Sonia Gandhi at an election rally Sunday. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, meanwhile, is likely to call on Karunanidhi Saturday, DMK sources said.
