“I can assure you that we are not going to appoint a special Kashmir envoy,” Assistant Secretary for South Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake told reporters ahead of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to India.

“This is long standing US policy that this is a matter that needs to be worked between India and Pakistan,” he said in reply to a question. “We don’t have plans to appoint an envoy.”
