Raipur : Police recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of four tribal men in the jungles of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region Friday. Police said Maoists had killed the men accusing them of being police spies.
The tribals were abducted early this week. They belonged to Bijapur district’s Guddipal village, some 500 km south of Raipur.
Bijapur Superintendent of Police Avinash Mohanty said the police were combing the area where the bodies were found to apprehend the killers.
Police sources here say that Maoists had been tracking the villagers for their alleged role in the arrest of two senior Maoists late last year.
