Islamabad: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari Monday told visiting Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada that terrorists cannot lay their hands on its nuclear weapons due to the tight security in place, the Online news agency reported.
Several issues, including security, Afghanistan, energy and trade were discussed during their talks here.
Zardari said Pakistan needs more support from the international community to tackle the current challenges in the country. He called for access to world markets for Pakistani products.
He lauded Japan’s active participation in the Friends of Pakistan Forum meetings to help raise funds for the country.
He said Japan is one of the major trade partners of Pakistan and urged for enhancing trade ties. The government would provide full security to the investors, he added.
Japanese foreign minister assured continued support and assistance of his government to Pakistan in the development and fight against terrorism.
He said the Japanese companies would visit Pakistan and avail the investment opportunities in Pakistan.
