New Delhi: Legendary lyricist Gulzar, who has collaborated with filmmaker-composer Vishal Bhardwaj for many ventures, says the latter is his “extension” in both life and career.
“I believe Vishal is an extention of me. He is a part of me. I am extremely fond of him. He is doing whatever I have left unfinished,” Gulzar told reporters here after he was conferred the lifetime achievement award at the 11th Osian’s.
“Vishal calls me brother but he treats me truly like a father. He is very frank with me. He tells me whenever he feels that I am not writing the way he wants,” said the 73-year-old poet.
Gulzar and Bhardwaj were in the capital to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 11th Osian’s Cinefan.
The duo have worked together on various projects including “Kaminey”, “Blue Umbrella”, “Maqbool” and “Omkara” giving hits like “Dhan Te Nan”, “Tesoo”, “Ru-Ba-Ru”, “Namak” and “Beedi” to name a few.
