Contract killer held for police informer’s murder in Noida

New Delhi : A contract killer and his two accomplices have been arrested for the murder of a Delhi Police informer in Noida, police said Tuesday.

Rahul Singh, 30, and his accomplices – Bhupinder Singh, 28, and Sanjay – were arrested for the murder of Pramod Kumar Oct 20. They were also wanted for other cases of murder, robbery, and auto thefts in the national capital region (NCR).

Pramod Kumar was shot dead when he went with a Delhi Police team as a decoy customer to bring out a gang of auto thieves in the open. However, the criminals sensed trouble and fired at him before fleeing.

Four loaded pistols and six cartridges were recovered from the three arrested criminals.

Police said Bhupinder was arrested when he was trying to fix the deal of a stolen car near the Shiva idol in Mahipalpur area Nov 3. Sanjay was arrested near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nov 6, and police then finally arrested Rahul from Vasant Kunj area Monday.

“Rahul tried to open fire but his pistol misfired. Our men also fired two rounds in retaliation and arrested him,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal.
