Srinagar : Two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and two others were injured in a guerrilla ambush in north Kashmir’s Sopore town Wednesday afternoon, police said.
A senior police officer told IANS that a patrol party of the CRPF was ambushed by militants at Warpora locality in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, 54 km from here Wednesday afternoon.
“Two CRPF jawans were killed in the ambush and two others were wounded. Additional deployment of police and paramilitary have been rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment,” the officer said.
No guerrilla outfit has owned responsibility for the attack.
