Malappuram: The Women Folk of Kerala is undergoing many mental pressures in the interiors of their house, even after much innovation in the field of Women empowerment.
And so, the government has decided to set up a Psychological Counseling centre in every towns of Kerala. This will help to solve the problems of the most discriminated group in the society to a great extent.
The Government made such a decision on the grounds of increasing suicides in Kerala. “The suicides among women in Kerala are mostly because of the tortures they face inside the house” said a worker of the Women Empowerment cell, another government body set for the up liftmen of the women. The counseling centre is expected to deal with every problem that centers on women in the society.
Though many changes have been made in the dowry system, it still prevails in every part of the state with much relevance. And this brings lots of harm to the young, newly wedded bride. Another real truth behind this is that it is mainly women create this problems.
In each counseling centers, there would be a women counselor and an assistant. Any one can seek their help at any time. The functioning of these counseling centers will be from 9am to7pm. After this the psychologists can be contacted through phone if needed. The Government firmly believes that such centers will be of great to the suffering women.
The Counselors would give advice on every matter like career guidance, mental guidance, mental support etc.
“As in every thing, this is also believed to have some threats in the beginning because each woman in the society should get the time to understand the use of this system. But gradually, when they understand it they will surely begin to use it.” Says Nirupama, a Television reporter
