Patna: A Non-Resident Indian of Bihar origin has written from Qatar to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urging him to order to fix electricity problem in his Kako village in Jehanabad district. For the last 15 days the village is in dark. As the villagers are disappointed with the lethargic attitude of the local government officials, they decided to call Shakil Kakvi, the NRI from the village now living in Qatar, to write to the CM.
Shakil Kakvi, President, Indian Association for Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ) in Doha-Qatar sought special attention of Chief Minister of Bihar for his native village Kako. The village went into dark after the transformer at Kako failed 15 days ago. The villagers since then are coping with the unbearable summer heat.
Kakvi wrote in his letter dated April 13, 2010 to Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar: “For the last 15 days my native village and full block Kako in Jehanabad district is under darkness due to failure of electrical transformer at Kako. The unbearable summer heat is making life of villagers miserable without power supply. No one knows how long time Kako electrical transformer will take to get changed or repaired. At this point only hope is you. The villagers requested me to approach you with full faith that you are not only CM but a qualified engineer too. You will understand the ground realities and will never disappoint them.”
Kakvi had recently attended Bihar Divas in Gandhi Maidan Patna, with a team of 22 young members from Doha-Qatar. His team visited his village Kako too and played a friendly cricket and football match with villagers under supervision of Jehanabad district administration as a part of Bihar Divas celebrations. The event was supported by Vivek Kumar, CEO of Bihar Foundation and secretary of Department of Art culture & sports, Government of Bihar.
