Players praise health facilities at Games Village

New Delhi : Players and delegates residing at the Commonwealth Games Village here have been praising the multi-disciplinary health facilities, and saying these are “world class” and “modern”.

The 24-hour polyclinic is the main provider of medical services to athletes and team officials at the Village.

Kamara Mohamed, 26, an athlete from Sierra Leone, landed in Delhi with an upset stomach and high fever. After taking a day’s medicine at the polyclinic, Mohamed was better and started preparing for his event.

“The services here are wonderful and I was fine after taking the medicine. The facilities are also world class and you have a dedicated team of doctors catering to you,” said Mohamed.

Ruth Mueni Nyioka, team official of Nigeria, said: “The staff here is very cooperative and the facilities are quite modern.”

Sadhana Dewal, project officer of the polyclinic, said: “We have a staff of 275 people, including 45 doctors, catering to 6,800 sportspersons. The services are good and the players are praising it.”
