The secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), Zahi Hawwas said Thursday it is one of the most beautiful statues found in Amenhotep III’s funerary temple.

The temple in Luxor had many statues featuring Amenhotep III with different ancient gods.

Amenhotep III is believed to be the grandfather of boy-pharaoh Tutankhamun, who ruled an empire stretching from Nubia in the south to Syria in the north, in the 14th century B.C.
