New Delhi : Delhi reported 23 fresh cases of dengue Monday as the total number of people hit by the disease this year rose to 5,973, an official said.
According to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Shahdara (north) zone continues to be the most affected with 828 cases followed by Rohini zone (758) and Civil Lines zone (656).
Eight people have died due to the disease this year, the official added.
However, the number of chikungunya cases is gradually rising in the capital. A total of 47 cases of the disease have been reported in the city so far. Only seven such cases were reported during the corresponding period last year.
