Not made any attempt for out-of-court Ayodhya settlement: Centre

New Delhi: The Central Government has not made any attempt for out of court settlement of the Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Madjid dispute after the Allahabad High Court judgement of 30th September 2010. The UPA Government informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

“However, in compliance with directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow, the Central Government is obliged to maintain the status-quo at the Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid Complex at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for a period of 3 months from the date of pronouncement of the judgement by the Hon’ble Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow i.e., up to 30.12.2010,” Minister of State for Home, Ajay Maken in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on December 8.

The minister made it clear that the Union of India was not a party to any of the title suits.
