Gurgaon : A school here will organise an art festival in which folk artistes and craftsmen will be invited to exhibit their work and conduct workshops for the students.
Lok Kala Parv festival will be the third of its kind to be organised by the Heritage School in Gurgaon Oct 22-27.
The festival will be inaugurated by Kiran Seth, a founder member of SpicMacay, an organisation that promotes Indian art forms among the youth.
Be it pottery, weaving or terracotta sculpting, the students will be exposed to an array of art forms and the works of the craftsmen will be displayed as well as put up for sale.
Artists will also conduct workshops in their specialised fields for the students.
With the aim of establishing itself as a centre for promotion of both visual and performing arts, the school organised the first art festival, Aayaam Aakar, in 2005 and the second festival, Heritage Art Festival, last year.
In the earlier festivals, the students exhibited their paintings, terracotta, screen and lino-prints, watercolour studies, compositions and designs.
