Mumbai: Calling it a “historical sting in the Indian journalism” Jamaat-e-Islami Hind congratulated the Tehelka team that got on camera confessions of key players of Gujarat genocide of 2002.
Though it was a common knowledge about involvement of people like Babu Bajrangi but investigation was deliberately derailed to protect all the accused. Tehelka in its 6 months under cover investigation were able to get many Sangh Parivar leaders to detail their involvement in anti-Muslim program and captured it on spy-cam.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said they are satisfied that the media has played a role and now we are hopeful that India’s judicial system will act. JIH hoped that Nanavati-Shah Commission and the Supreme Court of India will take action on the new revelations.
Nanavati-Shah Commission is probing the Godhra train burning and subsequent violence in Gujarat that resulted in death of thousands of Muslims.
Calling “barbarians” people who confessed killing pregnant women and burning children, JIH urged the Gujaratis to vote them out of power.
