New Delhi: Civil society member Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday said he felt the decisions taken at the meetings on the Lokpal bill were “pre-decided”.

“We have the feeling that the decisions were pre-decided,” Kejriwal told reporters here, obviously referring to the five cabinet ministers who form half of the 10-member panel set up to draft a Lokpal bill.

But Kejriwal said the discussions between the two sides had helped focus the nation’s attention on the Lokpal bill, aimed at fighting corruption in high places.

The biggest achievement of the meetings was that people were talking about the bill, he said.

“Whatever issues used to be discussed in the meeting, we used to share with the public. No other law has been so much discussed among the public.”

The two sides began meeting in April after a hunger strike by Gandhian activist Anna Hazare here for five days spurred the government into setting up the 10-member panel.
