The campus is coming up near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad on the city outskirts and Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal will lay the foundation stone Tuesday.

Claimed to be the first full-fledged campus of a major, top-ranked international business school in India, it will initially offer its 2-year MBA programme to 120 students, apart from various executive education programmes for working executives.

Subject to approval under the Foreign Educational Institutions Bill currently before the Indian parliament, admissions will commence in January 2013.

Under the agreement signed last year, Schulich will develop the learning environment and academic infrastructure while GMR will provide the land and the physical infrastructure.

“The institution will develop leaders of tomorrow, equipped with much needed sensitivity and understanding of diversity in many forms and clear conviction about the need for sustainability of planet, people and profit,” said G.M. Rao, Group Chairman, GMR Group.

“The GMR Campus of the Schulich School of Business will be a mirror image of Schulich’s Toronto campus, with first-rate facilities, international faculty, and an internationally-focused curriculum,” said Schulich Dean Dezso J. Horváth.
