Syed Akhlaq Ahmad, of Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) who highlighted the “inaction of the Nitish Kumar government in the face of police atrocities” said that “even after one and a half month after Forbesganj police firing, which was nothing but a brutal violation of human rights, there is no sign of justice to the victims.”

Ahmad further said that all culprit police officers, including the Superintendent of Police, Garima Malick, are roaming free. Instead of registering FIRs against the culprit police officers, the local police registered FIR against 3000 villagers.

“All of these things show how non serious Nitish Kumar is when it comes to protecting innocent and helpless minorities in the state and ensuring human rights to the helpless,” Ahmad further added.

The protestors chanted slogans asking Nitish Kumar not to become, “dusra Modi” (another Narendra Modi). They also demanded registration of FIRs and immediate suspension of all police personal involved in the killing; compensation of ten lakh to the dead and two lakh each the injured without any delay and discrimination.

Investigating the role of the deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Susil Kumar Modi into the Forbesganj police firing was also demanded. It ahs been alleged that the factory owner on whose instructions the local police fired on the innocent and unarmed villagers, is close to Modi.

The protest was jointly organized by APCR, Student Islamic Organization (SIO), Jamaate-e-Islami Hind (JIH), All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mashawarat (AIMMM) and Palestine Foundation.
