New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s two-day visit to Bangladesh was aimed at putting in place an agenda for cooperation in areas such as power, infrastructure and education, Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said here Monday.
?We are trying to put in place a broad-based agenda for cooperation in areas like power, infrastructure, education and culture,? Mathai told reporters, a day ahead of the Sep 6-7 prime ministerial visit to Dhaka.
Besides promoting people to people contact, the visit would also work on to improve connectivity between the two countries, he said.
The prime minister’s bilateral visit to Bangladesh was taking place after 12 years, said the foreign secretary. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had visited India in January 2010.
