Over 600 to participate in national tennis ball cricket

Agra : More than 600 boys and girls representing 46 teams from different states have arrived here for the 18th national tennis ball cricket championships starting here Tuesday.

Four new pitches have been laid at the Eklavya Stadium here for the championships where 40 boys and girls each will be selected for the national team’s forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Chhattisgarh are the defending champions in both sections.

Prakash Kaushal of the Agra district children’s cricket association told media persons that four matches would be played every day.

“Each match will be of 12 overs. Each team will have 12 members, including three substitutes. Any player who hits the ball out of the ground or on the boundary will be declared out,” said Kaushal, explaining the rules of the game.
