New Delhi : Former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official R.N. Sawani takes over as the chief of the International Cricket Council’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU).
He takes over from Jeff Rees.
Sawani headed the match fixing probe in India in 2000 when Indian cricketers were implicated.
Sources told IANS, “The reason why we wanted to have an Indian head was also because most of the book makers who sought to corrupt the game were from India.”
