Hyderabad: Foundation for Economic and Educational Development [FEED], Secunderabad is making some serious efforts in Hyderabad and other districts in Andhra Pradesh, with the aim of enabling the Muslim youth to qualify the recently notified Police constable recruitment in the state, by training them in required physical skills and for the written entrance exam.
According to the notification, 24,000 Police constables are to be appointed all over the state and there is a 4% quota for Muslims in each district, but the Muslim youth in the villages are not yet completely aware of the opportunities. FEED is on a mission to create full awareness so that maximum number of Muslims boys and girls could get into the Police force. They are coordinating with Competitive Exam Training Institute (CETI), managed by Mr. Basharath Ali Engineer and his group for training candidates from Hyderabad.
FEED have started conducting training programs in all the three regions of A P, namely Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra and Telangana by conducting programs at Guntur , Karimnagar, Warangal , Bodhan (Nizamabad district), Ananthapur and Vijaywada. More districts are expected to be covered under the programme soon.
The training project is of high importance because there were no recruitments for last three years. Candidates who have passed Intermediate (10+2) and are below the age of 22 years with a suitable physique are eligible to attend the recruitment.
Presently they are planning to train 2,000 candidates and the target is to get at least 1,000 of them selected as Police constables. FEED aims at getting some women constables recruited as well. The cost of
training for each student for 3 months is expected to be at around Rs.2000 (US$: 40). The entire project is expected to cost at around Rs.40 Lakhs (US$: 80,000).
Successful placement of the candidates could fetch them a salary of Rs.25, 000. Besides all such factors this could empower the community. FEED requested all Project donors to actively participate and support the Project.
