Tehran : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has described IAEA director general’s report on Iran’s nuclear program as ‘fairly realistic and almost free from some super powers pressures’.
He said: “After divine resistance of Iranians and the insistence of the supreme leader and all Iranians, the route of the dossier has changed and today we witness the agency is finding its role and position and is declaring its own considerations and views.”
Ahmadinejad added, “Certain western countries, especially the US, have tried since several years ago to exert pressure on the agency and create tension and kick up a row in the region on the pretext of Iran’s peaceful.”
Referring to the ElBaradei report, Ahmadinejad said, “Since the first days, we declared Iran’s nuclear activities are lawful and in the framework of its legal rights, but the western countries propagation networks and political pressures did not allow the Iranians’ voice be heard in the world.”
He pointed out, “Nowadays, the whole world have noticed that the news was not true and Iran’s activities have been clean and peaceful and all main questions of the IAEA have received their appropriate answers.”
The president underlined that the US and one or two European countries’ reactions against IAEA’s report “is not an appropriate reaction” adding “they are trying to get even a small concession and make it a basis for their future concessions.”
President Ahmadinejad advised those countries who do not want to accept Iran’s rightfulness quit hostility and be aware that their words have not had any effects and results.
He said, “Upon wrong and incorrect information you issued two resolutions, but now you are aware that the data were wrong, so you should be brave to confess you have done wrong and make an apology to Iranians.”
Ahmadinejad concluded, “We think it is time for the US to improve its behaviors, of course we do not expect them to make an apology, but changing behavior would be adequate.”
