Paris : More than 100 people protested outside the Russian embassy in Paris against alleged electoral fraud in the Dec 4 parliamentary elections.
The demonstrators, holding slogans in French and in Russian, also urged the Russian authorities to allow public rallies in Moscow.
The majority of the demonstrators were young Russians living in France but there were also a few French nationals who had learned about the event from a social network.
Embassy officials said the demonstration did not affected the mission’s operation in any way Thursday.
Russia has seen four days of protests against suspected violations of voting procedure since the polls, in which Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party just managed to maintain its majority.
Around 1,000 people have so far been detained across Russia for taking part in such demonstrations.
