Talking to press on the eve of the conference, Maulana Yaseen Akhtar Misbahi, founder of Darul Qalam, Delhi said, “We are holding a public meet to Save Muslim Personal Law on Friday at Dhobi Talab Ground in Bhiwandi between 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.”

Besides the Supreme Court verdict of Compulsory Registration of Marriage, Waqf act 2010 and Direct Tax Code, Raza Academy will raise the issues of illegal arrests of innocent Muslim youths, daughters right in property, release of the mosques undertaken by the Archeological Survey of India-ASI and reservation for Muslims.

Since the issue of Right to Education is solved we will raise the issue of Registration of Marriage. We want it be made optional as making it compulsory is interference in Shariat, said Maulan Saeed Noorie, General Secretary, Raza Academy.

On the Daughters’ right in property Raza Academy suggested that the Rights of Muslim women in property must be accepted. They demanded the exemption to Madarsas and welfare trusts from the Direct tax Code. ASI must allow the offering of Namaz in the mosques under their control, they also demanded.

Raza Academy also demanded the bail, release and compensation of innocent Muslim youths and punishment for the guilty officers.

Saeed Noorie said, “Our government focuses to establish more police stations in the Muslim dominated areas; instead they should open more schools and colleges.”

They demanded the North Indian states to provide reservation to Muslims on the line of South Indian states.

Talking on the issue of Haj subsidy Maulana said, “Subsidy never benefitted Muslims, it was given to save the national carrier, Air India.”
