New Registrar of AMU is Captain Shahrukh Shamshad of Indian Air Force

Aligarh: Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah has appointed Group Captain (Retd.) Shahrukh Shamshad of Indian Air Force as new Registrar of AMU. Captain Shamshad on Friday took charge from outgoing Registrar Prof VK Abdul Jaleel. At this occasion all deputy and assistant registrars congratulated the new Registrar and gave farewell to Prof. Jaleel.

Born on 24 august 1957, Captain Shamshad began his career in Indian Air Force as commissioned officer in 1980. From June 2009 to Aug 2011 he was at National Defence Academy where he took active role in training joint secretary level officers of the central government.

In 1997-98, he was joint secretary at Services Sports Control Board. In this capacity, he organized inter-services sports championship. He also contributed in organising world shooting championship and commonwealth shooting championship. As manager of Indian Shooting Team he took part in Asian championship in Brunei and commonwealth championship in Malaysia.

Group Captain Shahrukh Shamshad is counted among national level shooters and he has got several medals.

His father late Syed Shamshad Ahmed was student of AMU. He had done MA in history. He served as IAS on different posts in UP.
