The delegation presented her with a memorandum containing details about the poor funding to hospital which is visited by around 5 lakh people from Western UP every year. Since 2005, the JNMC has been getting only Rs 2 crore and 10 lakh per annum while it has 1150 beds. Syeda Syedain Hameed holds the responsibilities of Health, Women and Children, Minorities, Voluntary Action, Handlooms and Handicrafts.

She was surprised to know that grant of maintenance by UGC is just Rs 2 crore 10 lakhs per annum approx Rs 54.77/ patient / day. But other central government hospitals under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW) are not in such pathetic condition. They are getting a minimum of Rs 250 to Rs 300/day/patient. JNMCH is the only tertiary healthcare hope for many poor patients in Aligarh and adjoining districts of Rampur, Moradabad, Bareilly. She promised to pursue the issue with health ministry and in health budget allocation to UP state.

The issue of low fund allocation to JNMC was also raised in zero hour of Rajya Sabha on 22nd May 2012 by MP Mohammad Adeeb and Ram Vilas Paswan actively supported this issue. Other MPs who supported the issue included Kumar Deepak Das, Assam, Devender Goud T., Andhra Pradesh, D. Raja, Tamil Nadu, SP Singh Baghel, Uttar Pradesh, Kaptan Singh Solanki, Madhya Pradesh and Ram Kirpal Yadav, Bihar.
