Addressing a group of women from eastern Ladakh who had came to Punjab under ‘Operation Sadbhavna’ of the Indian Army, Badal said Punjab and Ladakh had age-old ties as both were integral part of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s empire.
Badal said that after taking up the matter with the Jammu and Kashmir government, the Punjab government would make all out efforts to give free education to students of Ladakh to enable them benefit from the education facilities offered in Punjab.
He said that Punjab, being a hub of quality education in the region, was duty-bound to help students from Ladakh, who would go on to work for the development of their state.
