Mahtama Gandhi, father of the nation once said: “Humanity is an ocean if few drops of ocean are polluted we must not lose in faith in humanity.”
Khudai Khidmatgar (Servants of God) is one part of this ocean of humanity, aimed at contributing towards the welfare and progress of this nation. I have seen a hope of faith, promise, harmony and change in this organization. I am joining this organisation to contribute my bit as a citizen of this country.
Khudai Khidmatgar was originally started by, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as the Frontier Gandhi who exhorted his followers to work for the general people as serving God. Unfortunately dreams of Mahtama Gandhi and Frontier Gandhi who aspired to build a more equitable country. Today wishes of our forefathers have been trampled, where few are enjoying the wealth of this country, at the expense of most, and anarchy and chaos prevails. Communalism, poverty, lack of education, female foeticide, domestic violence, child labour, unemployment, casteism, etc. have plagued this nation.
As a citizen, I always wanted to work for the eradication of these evils. I find Khudai khidmatgar courageously fighting against all these social odds of the society under the benevolence leadership of another brave and courageous Faisal Khan. His indomitable spirit and dedication has helped in reviving this noble cause.
I see a glimpse of Gandhian ways reviving under the banner of this organisation. Khudai Khidmatgar has the vision of modern India which wants every Indian to be modern by thought not by clothes. It is make people aware of our real needs, and helping them fight social and political problems, and organise relief camps in times of disaster. They are reviving the movement all over the country.
In their hallmark red kurtas and skull cap, Khduai Khidmatgars remind me of Sufi saints who traversed across the length and breadth of earth, spreading the message of peace and humanity. Their dedication reminds me of an Urdu couplet: Malik main na meri justuju rahe// Sirf tu aur teri raza rahe.
In restoring communal harmony, and helping our country grow peacefully, it paramount that youth come forward and selflessly serve the nation.
