Nizamabad: On the 85th death anniversary of Saheed Ashfaqullah Khan, Muslim Empowerment Movement (Nizamabad unit) has organized a condolence meeting here at Faqr-e-Millat community hall shantinager, malapally Nizamabad on Dec. 19th.
Addressing the meeting of young school students Abdul Ghani District Aonvener of MEM recalled the services of great freedom fighter, he said Ashfaqulla Khan was one of the greatest martyrs who lay down his life for the freedom of India. By his remarkable sacrifice, Ashfaqulla Khan became an immortal revolutionary.
Abdul Ghani said, in 1921, Mahatma Gandhi had called on Indians to stop paying taxes to the government or to cooperate in any way with the British. This Non-Cooperation Movement kindled the fire of freedom in the hearts of all Indians. However due to Chauri Chaura violence which resulted into setting ablaze of a police station and death of some policemen, Mahatma Gandhi called off the movement in February, 1922. The youth of the country were greatly disappointed and they resolved that India should become independent as soon as possible. Ashfaqullah Khan joined the group of such revolutionaries, and gave his life for the sake of his countrymen.
M.A.Muqeet independent ex-Muncipal corporator addressed young school children by saying that revolutionary freedom fighters formed the Hindustan Republican Association. The Association published a manifesto called Krantikari in 1925 advocating the elimination of inequality and slavery. Ashfaqullah Khan and 39 of his accomplices, including the other ring leaders from his city Ramprasad Bismil and Roshan Singh were arrested a few months later. Ashfaqullah was detained in the Faizabad Jail and on 19th December 1927, Ashfaqullah Khan was martyred by the British colonial rule and hanged to death at the district jail,
M.A.Faheem Nizamabad, town President of AIMIM & Haleem Qamar TRS Leader also addressed the gathering. While addressing the meeting they said that Ashfaqullah’s devotion to the cause of freedom made him the foremost among those who gave their lives to win the freedom of the country. Love for the motherland, clear thinking, courage, firmness and loyalty were embodied in Ashfaq to the hilt. He deserves to be remembered and cherished by all Indians for his noble qualities and sacrifices.
On the eve of his 85th death anniversary of the unsung hero of Indian independence Shaheed Ashfaqhullah Khan speakers addressing his commemoration meeting appeal & demanded that UPA government should name a park, a road, and a square, after his name, in fond memory of great freedom fighter “Asahfaqullah Khan” in each of the corporation nationwide and also to set-up one regiment in military force by his nameand fill this regiment force with Muslims solders.
