Eight killed in Delhi road accidents since Thursday

    New Delhi : Eight people were killed in separate road accidents in the city since Thursday night, police said Friday.

    Murti, 38, and her two-and-half-year-old son were killed after the motorbike they were riding on was hit by a truck in west Delhi’s Kanjhawala area around 9.30 a.m. Friday. Murti’s husband, who was driving, sustained injuries.

    A 25-year-old Nepali resident was crushed to death by an unidentified vehicle in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar area around 11 p.m. Thursday.

    Ramu, who has been residing in Delhi for the past 10 years, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

    The third incident was reported from south Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area where Kundan Singh, 25, was crushed to death by a dumper. The errant driver fled from the spot.

    The fourth incident was reported from south Delhi’s Badarpur area where a motorcycle rider Mukesh, 30, was hit from behind by a tractor leading to his death.

    Mukesh, a resident of south Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, was returning home from his office.

    The fifth incident came to light in west Delhi’s Nangloi area where Shayam, in his 30s, was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle.

    The sixth incident was reported from Delhi’s Begumpur area where an unidentified man was found in a pool of blood on the road after a vehicle hit him Thursday night.

    Another unidentified man, in his 20s, was crushed to death while crossing the road in west Delhi’s Mangolpuri area late Thursday.
