Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian cause and said it would fully back efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, WAM news agency reported Tuesday.
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said Monday that the UAE would always back Arab and international efforts for a lasting settlement of the Palestinian cause.
He made the statement during his talks with visiting Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Yasser Abdu Rabo.
Rabo conveyed the gratitude of chairman of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas to President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for its continuous support of the Palestinian cause.
Sheikh Mohammed also expressed UAE’s appreciation for the Palestinian people’s struggle against continued Israeli occupation.
