Aligarh: “There is dire need for spreading message of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and to carry on the mission he launched. We have to learn the unity of Hindu and Muslim by his teachings and practices,” said Justice MSA Siddiuqi, Chairman of National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) during a national seminar in Aligarh.
The seminar was jointly organised by by Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC), the Aligarh Movement monthly magazine and Jamia Urdu Aligarh in Arts Faculty Lounge, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

Justice Siddiqui said that Indian Muslims should come forward to claim their rights. He alleged that the “insiders had damaged the cause” due to infighting of restoring the minority character of the AMU.
Sir Syed Excellence Award for Female Education to Dr. Shabistan Gaffar by The Aligarh Movement magazine.
Dr. Shabistan Gaffar, Chairperson Committee on Girl’s Education, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) and Guest of Honour said, Muslim women are a minority among the minority and their education is the responsibility of whole country. Our leaders have to stop speaking on Sachar Committee and must come forward to work for education.

The winners of on the spot of Essay Writing Competition on Sir Syed were awarded prize and certificate on the occasion. Justice MSA Siddiqui was honoured by the Aligarh Movement Magazine with Sir Syed Excellence Award for Social Justice and Dr. Shabistan Gaffar with the same reward for Female Education.
