Panaji : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday said the killing of Pakistan former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was a reminder of the destructive ability of terrorism and reiterated the need to work together to deal with the menace.
“The great tragedy once again is a reminder to all of us of the great harm that terrorism can do to the peace, prosperity and well being of the region,” he said here.
“We all have obligations to work together to deal with this menace which threatens the ways of civilised people living all over the world,” he added.
On Thursday evening, a few hours after the assassination, the prime minister’s office had released a statement stating the Manmohan Singh was “shocked and horrified”.
He noted that it was a “reminder of the common dangers that our region faces from cowardly acts of terrorism”.
