Islamabad: A European Parliament’s delegation will visit Pakistan Saturday to discuss how EU- Pakistan relations can be strengthened, the EU office in Islamabad said Friday.
The visit takes place a day following the granting of increased trade preferences to Pakistan by the EU under the GSP+ (Generalised Scheme of Preferences) scheme approved by the European Parliament, Xinhua reported.
GSP+ is expected to significantly increase trade between the EU and Pakistan, in particular in textile and garments sector.
While in Pakistan the European parliament delegates are expected to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a statement from the EU mission in Islamabad said.
