New Delhi : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Wednesday reviewed the status of the communication network across the country during disasters like floods, said an official statement.
The officials of the communication and information technology ministry informed Singh that a committee was constituted for suggestions to improve the communication network during disasters.
Recently, flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir witnessed failure of mobile and other communication networks.
The meeting was also attended by union Communications & Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Singh told the officials that they should set up a robust telecommunication system that would withstand natural disasters by a greater degree.
