New Delhi : The Delhi Police has registered a case of rioting and trespassing against AAP legislator from Shahdara Ram Niwas Goel and his son along with three supporters, officials said.
According to the first information report (FIR) filed by complainant Manish Ghai who claims to be a builder, Goel along with his son Sumit and supporters Atul Gupta and Balbir Singh had on the night of Feb 6-7 barged into Ghai’s house – C-273 Vivek Vihar in east Delhi.
“Goel suspected that BJP workers had stocked liquor in the house which was to be distributed to the poor on the eve of Delhi polls (Feb 7),” the FIR said.
In his complaint, Ghai alleged that Goel, who is likely to be the speaker of the Delhi assembly, vandalized his property and assaulted his driver who was sleeping in the house at the time of the incident.
“They broke window panes, almirahs and other furniture and even physically assaulted my driver,” said Ghai who lives with his family in east Delhi’s Farsh Bazar.
