New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said all vacant posts meant for SC/STs would soon be filled.
“We will ensure that all the reserved posts of SC/ST lying vacant in various categories in all the departments will be filled soon,” Kejriwal said while paying floral tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 124th birth anniversary in Delhi Assembly.
He said that the rights of people belonging to SC/ST community would be given to them in true spirit.
“The process of making SC/ST certificates in Delhi will be made easier as the people belonging to these communities are facing lots of difficulties in availing the certificates,” he said.
Delivering a speech on this occasion, Kejriwal also spoke about labourers’ welfare, saying: “The government will ensure minimum wages to the labourers in the national capital. If it is found that the labourers are not being given minimum wages severe action will be taken against the concerned employer or authority.”
Paying tributes to Ambedkar, the main architect of Indian constitution, Kejriwal said, “Delhi government was committed to translate the dream of Ambedkar into action by giving the due rights to deprives.”
Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel said, “Ambedkar’s substantial contribution in the upliftment of downtrodden people will always be remembered.”
