Opposition worried about NDA’s feats: Parrikar

Panaji: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said the Opposition was worried over the quantum of work the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government was doing.

“In a political set up, when someone works, others feels restless. Look at the Centre, the same thing is happening,” Parrikar said during a function at Mandur, 15 km from Panaji.

“If they can’t find any flaw in governance, then they go about harping on a non-issue for as many as six days. If you see that, people are actually worried about the fact that a lot of work is getting done by our government,” said Parrikar, in a veiled criticism of the Congress’ sustained attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Lalit Modi issue.

“If you draw up a list of works done by the central government in the last one year, many things which were stuck are moving ahead,” Parrikar said.

For nearly one week, the Congress has been demanding an answer from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged favours granted by External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief minister Vasundhara Raje to former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi.
