The Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party announced on Monday that they will fight the 2019 Lok Sabha elections together in Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The party leaders of BSP and SP Mayawati and Akhilesh have also announced the number of constituencies they will contest in.
The SP will contest from one constituency in Uttarakhand out of the 5 while BSP will fight the elections from the remaining 4. In Madhya Pradesh, SP will contest in 3 constituencies while BSP will contest in the remaining 26 seats of the 29 seats. A statement has been issued in this regard.
Earlier in UP the alliance was formed wherein it was decided that SP will fight on 37 seats and BSP on 38 seats. Uttar Pradesh accounts for 80 constituencies of the Lok sabha.
