Mehbooba Mufti, President of People’s democratic party (PDP) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir welcomed Talib Hussain in her party today.
Although she called him an upright tribal activist and appreciated him in her tweet, the truth is something else.
Happy to welcome well known tribal rights activist Chowdhary Talib Hussain into PDP today. He fought tirelessly to ensure justice for Rasana rape victim at the cost of his personal safety. Im confident he will work tirelessly towards our vision for a khushaal J&K. pic.twitter.com/CQRSgO5n4a

Talib Hussain, an activist who fought for the rights of the tribal people in J & K rose to fame after he massively campaigned for justice for the 8 year old tribal girl who was brutally gang raped and murdered in 2018. However his career as a social activist is chequered with several allegations levelled against him and his subsequent arrest under charges of rape.
Talib Hussain is also said to be guilty of domestic violence and harassment for dowry for which his wife Nusrat Begum had lodged a police complaint.
Talib has also been accused of having raped his cousin who was out grazing her cattle. And based on her complaint he was charged under section 376 of Ranbir Penal Code.
More recently he was involved in the # MeToo movement as an accused for having raping a JNU student who did not name him directly but gave his description in her narration of the account.
Apart from sexual assault Talib has also been accused of attempt to murder way back in 2013.
