Santiago : India were given a tough early fight by a gritty Austria but then won 7-3 on the second day of the Olympic Qualifier here Sunday night.
The Austrians scored first and then held India to a 2-2 score at half time, before India pulled ahead with five strikes in the second half for a 7-3 win.
Great Britain, India’s main hurdle on way to the Olympics, also collected a second win and in a more convincing manner as they blanked Russia 8-0, the same margin by which India beat the Russians in their first match.
The third match saw hosts Chile beat Mexico 4-0.
In the first set of matches Saturday, India beat Russia 8-0, while Great Britain beat Mexico 11-0.
