In Nablus and its refugee camps, Israel arrested 29 Palestinians who were either members of Islamic Hamas movement or of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Hamas sources said.

The detentions took place in the city’s al-Ein and Balata refugee camps, local sources said, adding that more than 30 Israeli army vehicles rolled into the city and withdrew in the morning after arresting the activists from their houses.

The Israeli military confirmed the report, saying the detainees were wanted by Israel. Meanwhile, it said the army was continuing to impose a blockade on the West Bank since a Palestinian shooting incident that killed eight Israelis on Thursday.

In Ramallah, Israeli forces arrested an activist from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party despite granting him amnesty earlier last year, witnesses said.

They added that 10 Israeli jeeps stormed Ramallah and headed to the firefighter unit’s headquarter and arrested Zaher Hussein, a member of Fatah’s military wing who Israel granted amnesty following a deal with the Palestinian Authority last year.
